ALICE YVERNOGEAU
WHO IS ALICE YVERNOGEAU?
Alice Yvernogeau is a French singer, singer-songwriter, and performer whose musical career blends jazz, pop, and electro-pop influences. She has been active since the 2000s, with a substantial artistic career both on stage and in the studio.
MUSICAL JOURNEY
In 2000, she won the Jeunesses Musicales de France competition at the Cirque d’Hiver in Paris, marking one of her first successes.
She then decided to spend a year in New York to immerse herself in the music scene: there she discovered Broadway and Harlem, and frequented legendary clubs like the Blue Note, meeting influential musicians.
In 2001, she was noticed at a New York jazz club, The Trumpets, and performed regularly in New York and New Jersey.
Upon returning to France, she founded a jazz duo in 2002 with her twin sister Cécile Reyne Yvernogeau, which they kept going for many years, notably winning the “Jury’s Choice” award at the Saint Jazz Sur Vie international jazz festival in Vendée, presented by Patrick Saussois of the renowned label DJAZ Records.
They were quickly taken under the wing of guitarist and producer Patrick Saussois, who had them record their first album — 5 covers and 6 original compositions — on the DJAZ Records label.
A charming lineup strongly backed on stage by some of the finest names in French jazz, including Géraldine Laurent, Antoine Hervier, Pierrick Pedron, Alain Jean-Marie, Patrick Saussois, and Stan Laferrière, as well as, for French chanson, Michel Haumont, Gilbert Laffaille, and others. An all-star band with which the twins played show after show at the capital’s jazz clubs, such as the Duc des Lombards, Le Sunside, and Le Caveau de la Huchette; opened prestigious shows for Dee Dee Bridgewater and Ron Carter; and performed at festivals such as the Rendez-vous de l’Erdre in Nantes.
As part of La Francophonie, a distinctly French charm that won over audiences in southern Africa and Asia, where the album was widely distributed in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
FROM THE JAZZ STAGE TO POP CREATION
After years on the jazz scene, Alice explored new musical directions:
Between 2019 and 2022, she wrote her own songs in a stairwell during lockdown and turned to a pop rock and electro-pop project in which she fully embraced her role as songwriter, composer, performer, and arranger.
Her project, titled “Murmure,” reflects this more personal artistic exploration, blending tenderness and introspection. The Murmure EP was released in late 2024, featuring several singles such as Bain de minuit, Gizmo French Kiss, and Les élastiques.
For this project, she brought together Laurent Bardainne on composition (Camélia Jordana) and Nikko Bonnière (Dolly, Gold Record) on production and recording. The project also features a special appearance by singer-songwriter and poet Gilbert Laffaille (Prix Charles Cros) and duduk player Alain Larribet. (Ma langue maternelle va mourir et j’ai dû mal à vous parler d’amour – Yannick Jaulin).
The live show MURMURE is co-produced with support from Compagnie Le Beau Monde – Yannick Jaulin.
PERSONAL LIFE AND PROFESSION
Alongside her music career, Alice is a mother of two daughters and has also worked as a public elementary school teacher in Les Sables-d’Olonne since 2018.
